Founder & Managing Director
Rupin Banker is a finance entrepreneur and founder of The Banker Group. He is also the founder of Royal Fort Infracom General Trading LLC and co-founder of Strategic Global Alliance, as well as a venture capital investor in a wide range of early-stage and established private businesses.
For more than 30 years, Rupin Banker has founded ventures and led high-profile transactions across large-scale infrastructure finance, supply chain management, real estate and pharmaceuticals, principally across emerging economies in Asia and the Middle East.
Founding The Banker Group
In 2003, Rupin founded The Banker Group, a family holding company that manages his wider commercial and investment activities across real estate, venture capital, public market investments and private investment opportunities.
He established the Group more than 20 years ago to build on his family's legacy in business, which was started in India by his grandfather in the 1940s. The family enterprise was initially focused on textile manufacturing, coffee and pepper plantations, and timber imports and production. Today, The Banker Group focuses on long-term value creation and investment across a highly diversified portfolio in the Middle East, Asia and the UK.
The Group also provides long-term philanthropic capital to charitable and non-profit projects across India and other developing economies, reflecting the family's commitment to supporting under-resourced communities.
Strategic Global Alliance
As co-founder of Strategic Global Alliance, Rupin Banker provides senior-level advisory support to governments, project developers and institutional investors on large-scale infrastructure and project finance opportunities. The firm specialises in structuring investment solutions for public sector and private sector stakeholders, with a particular focus on emerging markets in South and South East Asia.
Working alongside co-founder Mr. Ishtiaq Khan, Rupin has helped position Strategic Global Alliance as a trusted advisory partner for major public-private investment initiatives. The firm's work has included advisory roles on substantial infrastructure transactions across India, Thailand, Indonesia and other international markets, supporting the mobilisation of private capital into projects with long-term economic and social impact.
Royal Fort Infracom
In 2012, Rupin established Royal Fort Infracom General Trading LLC in the United Arab Emirates. The company was created to serve the growing demand for reliable supply chain and procurement solutions across developing infrastructure markets.
Royal Fort operates across the Middle East, Africa and Asia, providing materials, trade services and infrastructure supply solutions to multinational corporations and major industrial projects. The business supports large-scale development through structured procurement, supplier relationships and commercial execution across complex regional markets.
Family enterprise & early career
From the age of 18, Rupin Banker began his business career within the family's timber and plywood businesses. This included exposure to large-scale workforce management, manufacturing operations, international sourcing and commercial distribution. At the time, the operations employed more than 3,000 people, giving him early experience in managing complex business environments.
This foundation shaped his approach to entrepreneurship, capital strategy and international business. Today, Rupin continues to apply that experience across global finance, infrastructure advisory, supply chain development and investment management.
Rupin was born and raised in India. Today, he splits his time between Europe, India and South East Asia.
